Zone description : Dr. Robotnik’s first base in the series, the Scrap Brain Zone. Located on the South Island, it became the operational center for the evil doctor during his takeover of the island. Scrap Brain Zone is made entirely of metal, overflowing with hostile robots, deadly traps and moving mechanisms. It seems as if the entire Zone lives as a separate intelligent mechanism whose goal is the destruction of any intruder. Scrap Brain Zone is built on the ancient ruins of Labyrinth Zone, which Sonic will also have to visit to get into the center of the base.

Events

Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)

One unfortunate day, the evil genius Dr. Ivo Robotnik decided to build his evil empire with the might of an army of robots. The Doctor goes to South Island to find six Chaos Emeralds and use them to build the ultimate weapon – the Death Egg, a space station that would become the capital of the evil empire. Once on the island, Robotnik used his army of robots to capture animals who live on the island and put them inside the robots, charging his machines with the energy of the animals.

Soon, the supersonic hero, Sonic the Hedgehog, arrives on the island and begins rescuing the animals by destroying the robots and searching for the Chaos Emeralds. Scrap Brain Zone turns out to be the sixth location Sonic visits on his adventure. This is the final push in his battle with Robotnik, for this is the villain’s main base. At this point, Sonic has already collected all six Chaos Emeralds and only needs to defeat Dr. Robotnik to completely liberate the island. Along the way, Sonic will make his way through a base filled with robots and traps, as well as through an underground labyrinth, much like the Labyrinth Zone, to eventually reach the center of the base.
