Zone description : Located somewhere on South Island, the Gigapolis Zone is a futuristic industrial city in the midst of active construction. This city bears a strong resemblance to Star Light Zone, also on South Island, which may indicate that they are different zones of the same city or that the two cities are adjacent.

Events

Using the power of the Chaos Emerald he found, Dr. Robotnik recaptures South Island and creates weapons based on Chaos energy. Later, the supersonic hero Sonic the Hedgehog and his best friend Miles “Tails” Prower arrive on the island, find 5 Chaos Emeralds and fight to retrieve the remaining Emerald from Dr. Robotnik, thus freeing the South Island.
The second location visited on their journey throughout the South Island is the Gigapolis Zone. As they make their way through a city filled with robots of Dr. Robotnik and building blocks which block their path, Sonic and Tails encounter the most dangerous robot in the Gigapolis Zone, the Bead Worm Boss.
