Dr. Eggman’s right and left hands, Obot and Сubot are the first comic reliefs of the series and play almost no role other than to lighten the mood.
Orbot is a right hand, executive, rational and diligent. Orbot is loyal to Eggman and is smart enough to carry out a wide variety of commands, but seems vigilant enough to understand the Doctor’s missteps, which he will wryly comment on with mocking sarcasm.
Cubot is a left hand. Unrelentingly stupid and annoying, Cubot is incapable of handling the simplest of tasks, which leads to Eggman’s constant snapping at him. He is quite soft-hearted and perhaps even kind, but still completely loyal to his maker.
Orbot:

An entourage of robots created by Dr. Eggman. A combination of two robots, the round Orbot and the square Cubot.
Orbot is intelligent and serious. He obeys the orders of his master, Dr. Eggman, and does his job diligently, but sometimes he offends Dr. Eggman with his poisonous sarcasm. He is in charge of providing comedy to Cubot’s jokes.
Cubot is a laid-back guy with a good heart. Although he has the same CPU as Orbot, he is slow-witted. Even if he admires Dr. Eggman, he is a sloth who doesn’t take action until he is told to, which causes Eggman to get angry. He is in charge of making fun of Orbot’s jokes.
Levitation, the professional ability to run away.
Orbot and Cubot do not take part in the battles and run away immediately when confronted by Sonic.

Sonic Colors (2010)
As Dr. Eggman’s closest assistants, Orbot and Cubot were on a mission to capture aliens called Wisps in Eggman’s cosmic amusement park. However, Sonic and Tails, who arrived at the park, prevented the robots from further alien abductions. Soon after, Cubot, with the help of Orbot, fixed his voice chip (which was broken by default) but immediately after, Eggman suffered a final defeat in a battle with Sonic. The entire amusement park was destroyed and Dr. Eggman, Orbot and Cubot ended up being lost in space, swept away in an explosion. In the cosmic void, the Doctor and robots stumble upon a godlike creature named Time Eater. Eggman decides to use it to his advantage. Eggman flies off towards Time Eater, abandoning Orbot and Cubot in space alone.
Sonic Lost World (2013)
Orbot and Cubot again supported Eggman in his plans. This time, the Doctor has subjugated the evil creatures – the Zeti and started pumping out the planet’s energy. Sonic mistakenly frees the Zeti from Eggman’s control, which leads to the need for both Sonic and Eggman to escape, in the process causing Cubot to lose his body. The freed Zeti, using Eggman’s machine, begins to drain the planet dry, causing Sonic and Eggman to team up against the villains in order to prevent the destruction of the world. In the end, the Zeti are defeated, but Eggman betrays Sonic, eventually being defeated again by the blue hedgehog.
Sonic Forces (2017)
Eggman, backed by Orbot and Cubot, teams up with the powerful villain Infinite, who uses the power of the Phantom Ruby to defeat Sonic in battle. The blue hedgehog ends up being captured by Dr. Eggman. Together, Eggman and Infinite take over 99% of the world. Many heroes from around the world organize The Resistance and eventually free Sonic from captivity. As part of the resistance, Sonic, supported by Classic Sonic and the Avatar, defeat Infinite and the evil Doctor, returning the world to its inhabitants.
Team Sonic Racing (2019)
Orbot and Cubot support Dr. Eggman in yet another villainous plan. Joining Team Eggman with Metal Sonic and Zavok (one of the Zeti), Eggman infiltrates the races organized by Dodon Pa, the president of Donpa Motors. Getting close enough, Eggman kidnaps Dodon Pa in order to steal the Ultimate Energy Engine created by president from the Team Energy he extracts from the races. Eggman manages to use the Engine to create the ultimate machine, the Death Egg. Even with its power and the help of Zavok and Metal Sonic, the villains fail to defeat Sonic (along with the other heroes) and Dodon Pa is rescued from captivity.
