Personality & More

Naive, cheerful and hyperactive, Marine is always looking for adventure. She is not smart and often goes to the trouble, but she is very brave and ready to come to the rescue at any moment, whether she can help or not…

An unexpected trait of Marine is her resourcefulness. Though she does not seem smart, she is very quick-witted in critical situations and her unexpected and brave decisions have twice saved Sonic and Blaze from trouble.

In spite of her apparent confidence, Marine hides her indecisiveness, for in fact she is well aware that she is only getting in the way. Nevertheless, Marine is the kind of person who never gives up, so the time will come when she can be relied upon.

Biography & Details

Sonic Rush Adventure (2007)
Marine lives in the Sol Dimension (a dimension that parallels Sonic’s world). She is trapped on an island with her family and villagers, and being a child who loves fantasy is eager to go on a journey. Because of this, she tries to build a boat using a construction book, but she fails. One day two aliens, Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles “Tails” Prower, washed up on the island. Marine shows them around the island, settles them in her house, and tells them about her problem. Sonic and Tails build her a boat in gratitude (Sonic mines resources and Tails skillfully uses data from the book to implement them) and the three of them set off on their journey. During their adventure, the Princess of the Sol Dimension, Blaze the Cat, joins their team and it turns out that Sonic and Tails are aliens from a parallel dimension. Blaze searches for the Jeweled Scepter stolen by pirates and asks Sonic and Tails for help. They agree, but Blaze is uncomfortable with Marine’s presence, as the princess is convinced Marine is still a child and will get in the way (although it is more likely that the Princess is worried about Marine herself), but Sonic and Tails convince her to take Marine with them. In the end, the heroes are forced to leave Marine after one of her unfortunate escapades, but Marine follows them anyway and ends up kidnapped by pirate leader Captain Whisker. Sonic and Blaze rescue Marine but lose the Scepter… But Marine suddenly shows them the lost Scepter – she snatched it from Whisker at the last moment. Blaze and Sonic are changing their mind about Marine and the Jeweled Scepter returns to its altar.

Soon, however, Jeweled Scepter is stolen again, this time by two villains, Dr. Ivo Robotnik aka Eggman and Eggman Nega. The villains reveal that the Scepter is the key to the power sealed in the Earth’s solid rock, and by using it, they subdue that power to turn it against the heroes and take over the world. Sonic and Blaze, using Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds respectively take the form of Super Sonic and Burning Blaze and fight the Eggmans. In the end, Eggman Nega loses it and activates a weapon capable of destroying the entire world. Super Sonic and Burning Blaze fail to stop him, but at the last moment Marine shoots the robot using energy projection and thus gives her friends the second they need to finish off the villains, thereby saving the world.

In the end, Blaze accepts Marine, while Sonic and Tails must return to their own dimension. As a farewell, Marine shows them the boat she built herself and promises them that she will grow up and become smarter, after which she will find a way to meet her friends again.
