Espio the Chameleon

Knuckles’ Chaotix (1995)
Espio he was captured by evil Dr. Robotnik into Combi Catcher, when the doctor was in process of completing his plan by capturing Newtrogic High Zone and powering up his robots with Dark Rings with a goal to build his own robotic empire in the end. Espio was released by Knuckles the Echidna. Along with him and other friends such as Vector the Crocodile, Charmy Bee, Mighty the Armadillo, Heavy & Bomb, Espio makes a number of attacks on Robotnik’s bases, causing this to provoke Robotnik into using his strongest robot – Metal Sonic, (who is now powered by the Dark Ring and took the form of Metal Sonic Kai). Fortunately, Metal Sonic and Robotnik were defeated by Espio and the team in the end. 

Sonic Heroes (2003)
Espio along with his friends Vector and Charmy formed the Chaotix Detective Agency under the leadership of Vector and called themselves Team Chaotix. One day, they received a parcel at the agency, in which there was a walkie-talkie. A voice from the walkie-talkie, clearly altered by a voice-corrector, promises a lot of money for performing certain tasks. Espio doubts the safety of the venture, but Vector and Charmy’s thirst for money is stronger. Together, they complete several client tests designed to test their abilities, as well as encounter Dr. Robotnik (officially nicknamed Dr. Eggman) in combat. In the end, the client reveals that the original purpose of Team Chaotix was to free the client from Eggman’s captivity. Fighting armies of robots along the way, the team makes their way to Eggman’s giant ship and frees the client, only to discover that the client was Eggman himself. Vector guessed this a long time ago, but Espio and Charmy are perplexed. Robotnik declares that he did not cheat the detectives and will pay them as soon as he takes over the world. The team doesn’t find that to be a credible prospect, so Charmy gives the evil doctor a serious crack at it. After the doctor gets what he deserves, he is given a chance to speak out. Eggman reveals that he was captivated by his own robot Neo Metal Sonic. After copying DNA of Knuckles and his friends Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles “Tails” Prower along with DNA of ancient god of destruction Chaos and the Ultimate Life Form named Shadow the Hedgehog, Metal Sonic becomes the Metal Overlord, a completely invincible and unbeatable monster. Team Chaotix, Team Dark and Team Rose distract the Metal Overlord while Team Sonic are using the Chaos Emeralds to take their Super forms. With the power of the Emeralds, the heroes manage to defeat the monster and things return to normal.

Shadow the Hedgehog (2005)
Team Chaotix receives some kind of assignment from an unknown customer, demanding some information about Eggman and the events on Space Colony Ark. While the team was on their mission, the planet was attacked by an alien race of Black Arms led by Black Doom and all of humanity engaged in a fierce battle with the aliens. Once on the space colony, Espio along with Vector and Charmy accidentally activated a message left by Professor Gerald to Shadow, which allowed Shadow to find a strength in himself to defeat Black Doom and save humanity. 

Sonic Rivals 2 (2007)
Espio gets a mission from Vector to find a person who steals Chao. Espio finds out that this person is none other than Silver the Hedgehog, the quest from the future. It is revealed that Silver was trying to save Chao from Eggman Nega’s evil plot. Espio decides to help Silver and together they stop Eggman Nega by defeating the great monster Ifrit. In the process, Espio and Silver created a strong bond of friendship. Thanks to this, Espio refused to give Silver’s name to Vector. Unfortunately, this made another hit on the Agency’s finances.

Sonic Forces (2017)
A powerful new villain named Infinite attacks Sonic. With the help of Metal Sonic, Chaos, Shadow, and Zavok (leader of the Zeti), Infinite manages to defeat Sonic and the hedgehog finds himself captured by Eggman. Together, Eggman and Infinite take over 99% of the world with little or no resistance. Only faint echoes of The Resistance, led by Knuckles, fought the invaders, though unsuccessfully. Espio, Vector and Charmy also were a part of The Resistance. One of the victims of Eggman’s attack finds the courage to join the Resistance and immediately, nicknamed “Rookie”, is assigned to help free Sonic, who happens to have been held captive on Death Egg the entire time. In the end, the Resistance manages to rescue Sonic from captivity and he joins them. Sonic and Rookie destroy Eggman’s factory in the desert and work well together. Soon, Tails joins the Resistance as well, along with Classic Sonic, who has come from another dimension to help fight the villains. Working together, Sonic and Rookie defeat Infinite and destroy Eggman’s base, but the evil doctor still hasn’t given up. He implanted the Phantom Ruby into the Death Egg Robot and thereby amplifying the Ruby’s abilities many times over. With great difficulty, however, Rookie, Sonic and Classic Sonic work together to defeat Eggman in battle, thus saving the world. Classic Sonic returns to his dimension and the members of The Resistance including Team Chaotix begin to think about how to rebuild the world.
