Team Chaotix [Sonic Heroes]
Espio is a serious and business-minded person. He strives to get the job done correctly and thoroughly, while at the same time having a strong moral compass. He often doubts and ponders, which makes him distracted at times and question the mission.
Espio is very noble. He dislikes cruelty and evil, even though he often uses cunning and deception as his main weapons in battle. Espio is always ready to help those in need even if it goes against the mission, which can sometimes harm the finances of the Chaotix Detective Agency.
Espio is almost always with his friends and colleagues in the Chaotix Agency (namely Vector and Charmy). They are practically inseparable and together they form an incredible force.

- Discovering the truth
- Order and discipline
- Using Ninjutsu
- Cruelty and evilness
- Loud and bright places
Even if Espio trains a lot, he will still make mistakes. These mistakes do not allow him to be stealthy enough. Strong light sources can track Espio’s location even if he is invisible. If Espio were noticed and he has no ability to hide, he most probably will lose.

A chameleon who controls Ninjutsu and the “guardian” of the Chaotix Detective Agency.
He is a calm and quiet man who is overly cautious. In the Chaotix Detective Agency (where people tend to be optimistic and energetic), he occupies an important position as a quiet guard.
The more dangerous the mission, the more he burns. Although he is confident in his ninjutsu, he feels it is aesthetically pleasing to stay in the shadows as a ninja should. He can make his body disappear and appear invisible, but sometimes he will make mistakes like accidentally revealing himself by sneezing. His trademark is his large, protruding horns and long, curly tail.
Espio’s first appearance happened in Knuckles’ Chaotix (1995), where he was captured by Robotnik into Combi Catcher, when the doctor was on the way of completing his plan by capturing Newtrogic High Zone and powering up his robots with Dark Rings. Espio was released by Knuckles the Echidna. Along with him and other friends such as Vector the Crocodile, Charmy Bee, Mighty the Armadillo, Heavy & Bomb, Espio makes a number of attacks on Robotnik’s bases, causing this to provoke Robotnik into using his strongest robot – Metal Sonic, (who is now powered by the Dark Ring and took the form of Metal Sonic Kai). Fortunately, Metal Sonic and Robotnik were defeated by Espio and his team at the end.
In Sonic Heroes (2003) Espio along with his friends Vector and Charmy formed a detective agency and called themselves “Team Chaotix”. They get a call from a mysterious client, who asks the detectives to release him from Eggman’s prison. At the end of their journey, it was revealed that the client was Eggman himself, who was captured by an out of control Metal Sonic. Team Chaotix along with Team Sonic, Team Dark, and Team Rose defeated Metal Sonic, even though they didn’t get paid in the end…
In Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) Espio along with Vector and Charmy accidentally activated a message left by Professor Gerald to Shadow, which allowed Shadow to find a strength in himself to defeat Black Doom and save humanity. In Sonic Rivals 2 (2007) Espio gets a mission from Vector to find a person who steals Chao. Espio finds out that this person is none other than Silver the Hedgehog. It is revealed that Silver was trying to save Chao from Eggman Nega’s evil plot. Espio decides to help Silver, and together they stop Eggman Nega by defeating the great monster Ifrit. In the process, Espio and Silver created a strong bond of friendship. Thanks to this, Espio refused to give Silver’s name to Vector. Unfortunately, this made another hit on the Agency’s finances.
