Sonic Origins Upcoming Patch
Following the release of Sonic Origins, players discovered a plethora of bugs and glitches. Aware of these criticisms, SEGA is addressing it by working on a patch for the game. In a recent tweet by Sonic the Hedgehog’s social media manager, Katie Chrzanowski,”Hey! Thanks for the patience! The team’s been listening and is working on fixing a variety of issues right now.”
The current state of the collection has left die hard fans underwhelmed or perhaps even frustrated due to the bugs, glitches, and music replacements along with hearing news of Headcannon’s take on the released product. As stated by Simon Thomley (Headcannon developed), “This is frustrating…I won’t lie and say that there weren’t issues in what we gave to Sega, but what is in Origins is also not what we turned in.”
With these issues in hand, several modders decided to undertake the task of fixing the issues in game. Modder Xanman was working on an anticipated mod named BetterOrigins. Unfortunately, this project has been cancelled due to the fact that the mod team deemed the game in a very poor state and that the amount of issues is too massive.
All in all, players will have to wait for the patch to the game to see an improved product. Considering one of the game’s key developers states that the whole team was unhappy with the condition of the final product, there is much work to be done to rectify the state of the game and appease players and developers.
