Jeff Fowler, director of the previous Sonic the Hedgehog movies stated the production of Knuckles spin-off series today. Seconded by Sonic Movie official accounts on Twitter.
This live action series is placed between the events of Sonic Movie 2 and the upcoming Sonic Movie 3 in 2024.
Actor Idris Elba will return to voice Knuckles the Echidna in the upcoming Sonic Movie mini-series. No word on a release date for the mini-series.
In the series, Knuckles “agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior,” says the official logline.
