Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart

Yes, you read that title right. This fan-game is called Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart. It originated as a mod for the other Sonic fan game called: Sonic Robo Blast 2. It’s now downloadable as its own executable and completely free.

But what can you do in this fan-game? Kart racing of course. This game has 100 maps from the Sonic franchise and some other franchises to race on. Some have to be unlocked but who doesn’t love a challenge. These maps are divided between the race mode and the battle mode.

Under normal circumstances, there are five playable characters to choose from. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Eggman, and Metal Sonic. With these characters, you can have a race of up to 12 players. But not everyone needs to look the same because you can give every character any colour that you want. If you want to race a Super Sonic or as your original character just give Sonic a different paint job.

But what if you don’t have that many friends that can play the game at your house? Then you can join the many servers that are hosted by many players. You can also host your own server. But be warned this game is very competitive and requires lots of practice. So don’t be sad when you get the last place in your first race. It still even happens to me.

When you join a server for the first time there is a high chance you will get a pop up asking to install a modpack. Yes this game has modpacks. To add more characters, maps and other stuff. The game is even pre-installed with a modpack from the developers. When you enable it in the addons section your character list will look like this:

I highly recommend checking out this game yourself. It has many features that I didn’t even mention to keep this article contained. Maybe one day we will race against eachother. And then we gotta go fast.
